How to Help Kids Develop Their Emotional Vocabulary

We all want to raise kind and thoughtful kids – children who can reach out with compassion and bounce back from challenges. That’s why we need to attend to their emotional development.  Students who are emotionally literate are better equipped to learn in school, deal with difficulties, form healthy relationships, and make responsible choices. Join Deborah Farmer Kris –  child development expert and author of the new children’s book “You Have Feelings All the Time” – to learn more about the science of emotion and how everyone benefits when we learn how to name, normalize, and navigate our feelings.

Raising Awe-some Kids (Even When the World Seems Awful)

Awe is what we feel when we encounter something vast, wondrous or beyond our ordinary frame of reference. And given its academic and mental health benefits, awe might be our most overlooked, undervalued emotion. Come discover the life-changing research on awe and how to infuse your children's lives with a little more wonder.

Let’s Talk about Kindness and Courage

Kindness and courage are two character strengths that help our children flourish in school, in their activities, and in their relationships. And the world really needs more boldly compassionate people. But can we really teach kids to be kind and brave? If so, how? Join author Deborah Farmer Kris –  child development expert and author of the new children’s book “You Are Growing All the Time” – as she shares practical strategies adults can use to help children strengthen these vital habits.
