About Deborah Farmer Kris

Deborah is a parent educator, education journalist, children’s book author, and founder of Parenthood365.

A child development expert, Deborah works as a parenting columnist for PBS KIDS and writes education for NPR’s MindShift. Her work has also been featured in The Washington Post, The Boston Globe Magazine, CNN, and Oprah Daily.

Before moving into parent education, Deborah spent 20+ years as a K-12 teacher and administrator. She serves as an associate at the Boston University Center for Character and Social Responsibility and is the author of the “All the Time” picture book series.

Deborah has a B.A. in English, a B.S. in Education, and an M.Ed. in Counseling psychology. A popular speaker, she has offered workshops to thousands of parents and educators around the country.

Deborah and her husband have two kids who like to test every theory they’ve ever had about child development! She loves sharing nuggets of practical wisdom that can help kids and families thrive — including her own.
